Overview
Our aim is to establish a regular monthly educational meeting that integrates clinical content with faculty development material. We've tentatively scheduled these sessions for the first and second Thursday (a repeat of the first Thursday) of each month, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, in the Weiker room on the Downtown campus.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Enhance Clinical Knowledge: Apply evidence-based practices to improve patient care and outcomes in hospital medicine.
  2. Improve Clinical Decision-Making: Strengthen diagnostic reasoning and decision-making skills in complex, multi-comorbid patient cases.
  3. Foster Interprofessional Collaboration: Improve communication and teamwork skills with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  4. Promote Reflective Practice: Encourage self-reflection and critical thinking to continuously evaluate and improve clinical practices.
  5. Develop Teaching and Educational Skills: Enhance the ability to educate and mentor junior staff, residents, and peers effectively.
  6. Improve Communication with Patients and Families: Strengthen skills in delivering clear, compassionate, and effective communication in difficult or high-stakes situations.
  7. Encourage Evidence-Based Leadership: Foster leadership skills that emphasize evidence-based practices, mentorship, and team-building within the hospital setting
  8. Promote Reflective Practice: Encourage self-reflection and critical thinking to continuously evaluate and improve clinical practices.

Accreditation
The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler is accredited by the Texas Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
